TAKE A SEAT: This is the fifth year “Chairs That Care” has been part of the annual Birthday Bash at The Children’s Museum of Denver. Here’s how it works: Plain white upholstered chairs are donated to the museum by Ethan Allen and then transformed by local artists and designers into collectible décor pieces. Members of the public can bid on these chairs during the museum’s fundraising Birthday Bash on June 1. Ticket information is available at mychildsmuseum.org or by calling 303-561-0110.

LET’S GET COMFORTABLE: Bob Williams and Mitchell Gold founded their furniture business on the belief that relaxed design is also elegant design. It worked: Mitchell+Gold has become a staple in television- and movie-set styling, and regularly shows up in national builders magazines. Denver can get comfortable with this taste-making design duo from 5 to 8 p.m., when they do a meet-and-greet and talk about their new book, “Let’s Get Comfortable: How to Furnish and Decorate a Welcoming Home,” at the HW Home’s Cherry Creek North location, 199 Clayton Lane. Call the store to RSVP: 303-394-9222.
