A shooting sports clinic for youths is scheduled June 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a site south of Divide. Sponsored by the Division of Wildlife and Cripple Creek Victor Gold Mining Company, the event will feature both shotgun targets and a 3-D archery shoot for boys and girls ages 7-16. From Divide, drive south on Colorado 67 13.1 miles, to County Road 81, turn left and drive 4.1 miles to County Road 82. Then continue 1.2 miles to the site. Phone 719-227-5281 for information.
Conservation awards
John Fielder and Ken Neubecker have been presented awards by the Colorado Environmental Coalition for their work in resource protection. Fielder was given the “Rebel With a Cause” award for his advocacy for open space and wild lands. Neubecker was recognized for his voice for Colorado’s rivers. The organization also cited Interwest Energy Alliance as a Conservation Partner for clean energy policy.
