The Avalanche re-signed two backups to one-year contracts today, locking up Scott Parker and Johnny Boychuk for the 2007-08 season.

Acquired from San Jose in late February for a sixth-round draft pick, Parker scored one goal and had one assist for Colorado in 10 games last season.

The trade brought Parker, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound forward, back to the team that drafted him in the first round with the 20th pick in 1998. Parker, 29, played with the Avalanche from 1998 through 2003, including the Stanley Cup championship team of 2001. He was traded in 2003 to San Jose, where he played in 71 games in three seasons.

Boychuk, a 23-year-old defenseman, spent last season with the American Hockey League’s Albany (N.Y.) River Rats and scored 28 points.

Boychuk was Colorado’s second selection in the 2002 draft, going 61st overall.
