One person was killed and five others were taken to area hospitals following an early-morning crash in Boulder County, authorities say.
The name of the victim was not released pending notification of family members, said Ryan Sullivan, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
A Chevy SUV crashed at about 3:12 a.m. on Monarch Road just east of U.S. 287, Sullivan said.
The condition of the five was not immediately available, he said.
Investigators believe alcohol use was a contributing factor, Sullivan said.
Monarch Road was closed for several hours but has now been reopened, he said.
