In an unprecedented arrangement between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Bass Pro Shops, the 2007 Federal Duck Stamp will be revealed Friday at the outdoor merchant’s 42 locations across the country.
In Denver, the event will take place at 9 a.m. at the Bass Pro location at 7970 E. 49th Ave. Various federal and state wildlife officials will attend, along with certain wildlife celebrities. For information, 720-385-3600.
The duck stamp, a fixture of wildlife conservation since 1934, serves as a federal hunting license to help fund national wildlife refuges and other initiatives beneficial to waterfowl and other wildlife.
Over the years, a spirited competition for the exposure provided by the stamp has produced the best work of the nation’s leading wildlife artists. The 2007 stamp will be available for sale Friday at the store.
