University of Denver golfer Katie Kempter lost at the Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship on Thursday in Lexington, Ky., falling 4 and 3 to Shanshan Feng of Hilton Head Island, S.C., in the round of 32.
CSU-Pueblo hires Haywood as hoops assistant
Colorado State University-Pueblo has named Leslie Haywood assistant women’s basketball coach. Haywood played for CSU-Pueblo from 2002-06 and is a graduate of Dakota Ridge High School.
Falcons’ Neubauer takes title in shot put
Air Force Academy’s Sara Neubauer won the shot put title at the 2007 Finish Line USA Junior Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis.
Neubauer recorded a distance of 48 feet, 10¼ inches to become the first USATF champion for the Falcons.
Adams State College freshman James Douglas won a bronze medal for his sixth-place finish in the long jump. Bronze medals are awarded to the third- through sixth-place finishers.
