Thomas Hinrichs, a man accused of threatening the life of an FBI agent who was investigating a bombing involving Hinrichs’ brother, was found guilty today in U.S. District Court in Denver.

Hinrichs, 26, of Colorado Springs was convicted by a jury after a day and a half of deliberations.

In October 2005, Hinrichs’ brother Joel, blew himself up outside a University of Oklahoma football game. Agents questioned Thomas Hinrichs regarding the incident, and authorities say he became angry that they were questioning him.

On Nov. 15, Colorado Springs police arrested Thomas Hinrichs on an unrelated charge and found him to be in possession of a semi-automatic assault rifle, a bulletproof vest and 40 rounds of ammunition. Authorities say he made threats to kill an FBI agent.

Hinrichs is facing up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced.
