Westminster firefighters rescued a cat and put out a house fire early today that was initially reported as an explosion.
The fire occurred in the 3500 block of 76th Avenue at 10:50 a.m.
Firefighters found smoke, but no flames coming from the basement of the home. Residents managed to get out of the house on their own, according to the Westminster Fire Department.
No one was injured and the fire was put out by 11:23 a.m.
An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire and possible explosion.
