GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.—The roof collapsed on a 14-story building under construction Thursday, seriously injuring four workers in a south Denver suburb. Ten others suffered minor injuries.
The roof collapsed onto the 13th and 12th floors when workers were pouring concrete for the building’s roof, said West Metro Fire spokesman Howard Hardy.
“We’ve transported, I believe, four people to local hospitals with severe injuries,” Hardy said.
Everyone at the site has been accounted for, Hardy said, and rescue teams have concluded the rescue portion of the collapse.
Hardy said he wasn’t sure how much of building collapsed, but the worst damage was on the 12th floor of the building at the intersection of Landmark and Berry.
