Westminster – A man accused of killing an 8-year-old go-cart rider and leaving the scene of the accident appeared in court Friday and was charged with two felony counts.
Sean Christopher Daniels, 31, remained in the Jefferson County Jail on Friday on a $50,000 bond.
An affidavit released Friday said that after the accident, Daniels looked in his rearview mirror and “didn’t think anyone was hurt,” so he drove off.
“No harm, no foul,” Daniels told investigators, according to the affidavit.
Daniels is a suspect in the June 23 death of Quinton Von Duyke.
Quinton was riding in a go-cart with his brother, Kaeden, 10, on West 96th Avenue near Pierce Street in Westminster when it was hit by a vehicle.
Kaeden was thrown clear of the go-cart and survived.
Daniels was charged in Jefferson County with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and tampering with physical evidence.

Man gave away gun at airport, police say
A Colorado man accused of giving a handgun to a janitor in Syracuse, N.Y., last month, instead of purchasing a carrying case, has surrendered to authorities at Syracuse Hancock International Airport, Homeland Security officials said.
Michael Barbour, 45, of Longmont was charged with felony third-degree criminal sale of a weapon and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Barbour attempted to bring the weapon in his checked baggage on a June 29 flight, according to police records.
He was turned away at a security checkpoint when he told agents he had a gun in his checked baggage that was not in a proper container. Officials directed him to a counter where he could buy the required hard-sided gun case.
A short time later, Barbour told agents he had no weapons and boarded a flight from Syracuse to Denver.
Then an airport custodian notified police that a man in the airport gave him a free Ruger .480-caliber revolver.
Barbour was met by authorities at a layover in Boston but was allowed travel to Colorado when he assured them he would return to Syracuse on Thursday to face charges.

Oregon AG, bed marketer reach deal
The Oregon attorney general’s office has signed an agreement with an Aurora marketer of adjustable beds concerning sales tactics.
The agreement resolves allegations that Success Marketing Inc. gave misleading reasons for price cuts, made false health claims and took advantage of two elderly customers in selling Craftmatic Beds, said a statement from Attorney General Hardy Myers’s office.
Success Marketing paid about $5,000 in restitution to its customers, and paid $7,500 to the Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Protection and Education Fund, the attorney general’s office said.
A phone number for the company was not in service.

Prison escapee killed in hostage situation
An armed man who dashed into a house Friday was fatally shot by an officer while holding a hostage around the neck, police said.
The man refused to drop his gun and shouted that he wanted to die rather than return to prison, said Detective Jeff Bedard, a Salt Lake City police spokesman.
The man, whose name was not released, tried to steal a car about 12:20 p.m. but the driver resisted, Bedard said.
He ran a few blocks and entered a home where he took a man and woman hostage, Bedard said. The male escaped.
With police surrounding the house, the man was ordered to surrender. He was shot in the head at the rear of the house while holding the female hostage around the neck.
