Rookie defensive tackle Keith Jackson, son of the former NFL tight end by the same name, signed a three-year contract Monday with the St. Louis Rams.
Jackson, a 315-pounder from Arkansas, was chosen in the seventh round in the April draft. He became the third 2007 draft choice to sign with the Rams.
Jackson was an all-Southeastern Conference selection last season after registering 79 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and two interceptions for the Razorbacks. His father, Keith Jackson, starred for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1980s and 1990s and also played for Miami and Green Bay.

Johnson caught nine passes for 156 yards for the Minnesota Vikings last season. He played for the New England Patriots from 2003-05.
Johnson, 28, has averaged 24.6 yards on 147 career kickoff returns, including two touchdowns of 90-plus yards. He has four touchdown receptions.
Woodfin was out of football last season after playing the final three games of 2005 with Baltimore. He had one tackle.

A 27-year-old native of Mexico City, Lopez spent three seasons in NFL Europe, playing with Cologne and Amsterdam.
Chargers: Rookie linebacker Anthony Waters was charged with hitting a man who threw a rock at his car on a highway in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Waters, 22, was arrested last week on a simple assault and battery charge and released on $1,000 bail, Horry County spokeswoman Lisa Bourcier said Monday. No trial date has been set.
Giants: Kenneth A. MacAfee, who played for the New York team during the 1950s, has died.
MacAfee, 77, suffered a suspected heart attack July 4 while playing golf and was pronounced dead later at a Brockton, Mass., hospital, said Natalie Melo of the Conley Funeral and Cremation Service in Brockton.
