Colorado Springs – A 17-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of a Western State College football player.
The juvenile, whose name has not been released, was arrested at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Diontea Jackson-Forrest, 19, was shot to death shortly before 1 a.m. Monday while driving a car in central Colorado Springs. Jackson-Forrest was expected to start at running back this fall for Western State.

Bail lowered for man charged in hit-run
Bail has been reduced from $50,000 to $25,000 for Sean Christopher Daniels, charged in the hit-and-run death of an 8- year-old go-cart rider.
Daniels is accused of hitting a go-cart driven by Kaeden Von Duyke, 10, on June 23 in Westminster. A go-cart passenger, Quinton Von Duyke, was killed in the incident.
During Wednesday’s court appearance, Daniels’ preliminary hearing was set for Aug. 14.
AURORA
3 prostitution arrests follow spa, home raids
Arapahoe County deputies Tuesday arrested three women accused of prostitution and human trafficking in a raid of the King’s Health Spa in the 2000 block of South Pontiac Way.
The raid came after an eight-month investigation and culminated with the arrest of the spa’s owner, 51-year-old Sun Cha Om, who faces felony charges of human trafficking and providing prostitutes, authorities said.
The investigation focused on surveillance of the spa and two residences in the city of Aurora, authorities said.
More than 30 sheriff’s deputies and Aurora police officers executed five search and seizure warrants for the spa and one Aurora home.
Also arrested was Tae Ok Yang, 53, a house manager at the spa, and Na Young Kim, 23. Yang also was charged with providing prostitutes and a misdemeanor prostitution-related charge, authorities said. Kim faces a misdemeanor prostitution charge.
Om is being held at Arapahoe County’s jail on $250,000 bail. Yang is being held in the jail on $10,000 bail, authorities said.
Their next court appearance is Monday.

Baghdad bomb kills 215th Carson soldier
A Fort Carson soldier was killed by a roadside bomb Friday in Baghdad, the U.S. Defense Department confirmed Tuesday.
Spec. Eric Lill, 28, was with the 2nd Infantry Division’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team.
He was the 215th member of a Fort Carson unit to be killed in Iraq since the war began in 2003.

Letter to suspect in mom’s death seized
Boulder prosecutors have received a copy of a letter from an admitted accessory in the death of a Lafayette mother sent to the woman’s daughter, who is in juvenile detention awaiting trial on charges in the death.
The letter from Jared Smith, 16, to Tess Damm, 15, was intercepted at Platte Valley Detention Center, where Damm is being held on murder charges in her mother’s stabbing death this year. In a motion filed last month, prosecutors said the letter was given to an investigator for Tess Damm’s attorney.
On Wednesday, prosecutor Karen Peters said at a court hearing that defense attorneys gave her a copy of the letter, which she described as being two pages and handwritten. She did not disclose the letter’s contents.
Smith pleaded guilty in April to being an accessory in the case and was sentenced to two years in the Department of Youth Corrections. Damm’s one-time boyfriend, 18-year-old Bryan Grove, is charged with murder in the killing of 52-year-old Linda Damm, whose body was found in a car trunk in late February.
