Traffic signals at a major Wheat Ridge intersection are expected to be out until at least 3 p.m. today, police said.
At about noon a semi-tractor trailer hit the power box to the traffic signals at the intersection of West 38th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard.
The signals are out in all directions. Police spokeswoman Lisa Stigall said officers are directing traffic until repairs can be made.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible since traffic congestion is expected, Stigall said.
