GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A woman rescued from the Colorado River after her raft overturned on Orchard Mesa died as a result of the accident, coroner’s officials said.
Lisa Walker, 44, of Illinois, died at 3:41 p.m. Monday, according to Rob Kurtzman, forensic pathologist.
Walker was rafting with her family on Sunday when her raft got caught on a tree branch, causing the raft to flip over. It was unclear if Walker was wearing a life preserver.
Rescue crews performed CPR on Walker after she was pulled from the water. She was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital in critical condition.
Kurtzman says drowning would be listed as the cause of death.
No other injuries were reported.
