LIVERMORE, Colo.—Heavy rains Thursday forced the closure of U.S. 287 for about 20 minutes when officials feared the road may flood.

The road closure occurred at about 4:15 p.m. but was reopened about 4:35 p.m. said department of transportation officials.

Rains poured on northern Colorado at about that time, but quickly subsided and allowed the road to reopen.

The highway is a popular route between Colorado and Wyoming.
