Today, residents in the Apple Meadows neighborhood near Colorado 58 and West 58th Avenue received small, white fliers stating that a sex offender had moved into the area.
The fliers advertise a website, at a cost of $4.95 per month, where residents may “find out who they are and what their address is,” Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office officials said.
Not only does the site contain inaccuracies, officials said, they have no information that there are newly relocated sex offenders in the Apple Meadows area.
Free information on registered sex offenders is posted on the sheriff’s website,.
