A 2-year-old child died Tuesday night in Grand Junction, the victim of suspected child abuse, authorities said.
The child, who lived in the 3200 block of East Hall Court in Clifton, was brought to St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction in critical condition Tuesday afternoon. Medical personnel notified the Mesa County Sheriff’s office that they suspected the injuries may have been caused by abuse.
The child died six hours later.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the case and has not released any additional information, including the identity of the family.
