A 62-year-old man who was driving a 1999 Suburban when a car dolly he was towing struck an 8-year-old boy Wednesday will not be charged, authorities said.
Bill Fritts of Colorado Springs was driving under the 40 mph speed limit when the fender of the car dolly hit the boy, Master Trooper Ron Watkins said.
The child was crossing U.S. 34 at 3 p.m. when he was struck. He was flown by helicopter to Children Hospital in Denver with serious injuries, Watkins said.
The boy’s name has not been released and his condition was not available, Watkins said.
