Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort

15870 County Road 162, Nathrop, CO, 888-395-7799,.

RATES: Start at $119 per night for standard king; $275 a night for cabins during the week and $300 on weekends. Overnight parking is free.

STAY HERE IF YOU’RE: Looking for a family-friendly or romantic spot with something for everyone.

IT’S CLOSE TO: The Colorado Trail (one mile), San Isabel National Forest, hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, snowmobiling, cross-country and alpine skiing, Buena Vista.

THE ROOMS ARE: Newly renovated, charming and cozy. Sparsely decorated but warm, with views of the mountains from many. The cabins are rustic.

THEY PUT ALL OF THE MONEY INTO: A much-needed remodel since the place was purchased by new owners in 2004. The pools have been revamped (the upper one, the fun one with the slide, keeps getting its reopening schedule pushed back, but they’re now saying Aug. 1).

THE BOTTOM LINE: One of the best Colorado hot springs, nestled among the Collegiate peaks, with Chalk Creek running alongside the lower pool, good food on-site and spa treatments available.
