Getting your player ready...

The old-fashioned pogo stick has been revived and turbo-charged by the crew at Flybar. Lightweight but burly, the Flybar can send hoppers up to 5 feet off the ground thanks to elastomer bands called thrusters that can generate propulsion when stretched. The number of bands can quickly be adjusted to provide shorter bounces for beginners or more oomph for bigger bouncers. Freestyle Flybar flippers have harvested more than a million views on with cringe-inducing acrobatics. The 800, with eight rubber bands, sells for $250; the poppy 1200, with 12 bands capable of propelling pogo jumpers 5 feet off the ground, sells for $380. Created by a pro skateboarder, the Flybar draws a crowd, and the patented system promises to forever steal pogo sticking from the pig-tailed children of yore.
