Air Force coach Troy Calhoun is working out the final details on an attempt to bring former Falcons quarterback Mike Thiessen to the academy’s varsity coaching staff.
Thiessen is an assistant coach at the academy’s Prep School and would coach the receivers if he joins Calhoun’s staff.
Thiessen played for the Falcons in 1998-2000. He guided the Falcons to a 9-3 record his last season, including a 37-34 triumph over Fresno State in the Silicon Valley Bowl. Air Force defeated Army and Navy that year, beating Army 41-27 and Navy 27-13.
Calhoun said he hoped to have details completed on Thiessen’s arrival later this week.
