A Denver couple suspected of running a methamphetamine lab that started a fire in their home were charged Monday in Denver court.

Aaron Neal, 34, and Kimberly June Angelo-Neal, 32, have been charged with six counts of felony child abuse and six felony drug counts, including manufacture of a controlled substance, conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance, possession of chemical supplies and possession of a controlled substance.

Aaron Neal also faces one count of felony arson.

The charges allege that Neal and Angelo-Neal were operating a meth lab at their home in the 3100 block of Umatilla Street while caring for their 1-year daughter.

Their daughter has been medically evaluated and placed in protective custody.

The charges further allege that the lab caught fire in the early-morning hours of July 18.

Neal and Angelo-Neal remain in custody in Denver County Jail.

Their bail is set at $50,000 each.

They are scheduled to be advised of the charges in Denver County Court on Wednesday.
