A teenager killed last week in an SUV rollover accident near Golden was identified Monday by the State Patrol.
Jared Johnson, 15, sustained severe head injuries and died at the scene, near Colorado 93 and West 58th Avenue, officials said.
Also killed in Wednesday’s accident were Stephen L. Sweet, 20, the driver, and Jacob Payte, 18, a passenger.
All the victims were from Golden.
They were in an open-top 1988 Toyota 4Runner traveling through tall, grassy terrain on Jefferson County Open Space when the vehicle hit a gully and flipped.
None were not wearing seat belts, and all were ejected, the State Patrol said.
Officials suspect alcohol or drugs as a factor and await toxicology results.
