The Nuggets will try to spook heralded Seattle SuperSonics rookie Kevin Durant on Halloween in their home opener.
The Nuggets will open up the 2007-08 season against the Sonics on Oct. 31 at the Pepsi Center, according to an NBA source. The Sonics have Duncan, the second overall pick in this year’s draft, and the fifth overall pick in Jeff Green. The entire NBA schedule is scheduled to be released Thursday. The Nuggets are expected to be featured prominately in national televised games on TNT and ESPN this season.
The Nuggets report Oct. 1 to training camp in Denver, practice begins Oct. 2.
Durant and Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony are competiting to be one of 12 players named to USA Basketball’s senior men’s national team for the FIBA Americas Championship, which is the Olympic qualifier in Las Vegas from Aug. 22-Sept. 2.
