COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A Boy Scout leader has turned himself into El Paso County authorities to face charges of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of authority.

The Gazette identified the man as 34-year-old Johnny Ray Barmore, a leader in Boy Scout Troop 375. He is being held on $10,000 bond.

Barmore is a sergeant first class in the Army, and a veteran of service in Iraq and Kosovo, and had been a Scout leader for 15 years.

He has no criminal record.
