They weren’t Academy Awards, or even Tonys, but the honor given at the National Sports Center for the Disabled’s summer fundraiser, Night on Broadway, carried more meaning than any showbiz title ever could. The star of this auction and dinner held at Buell Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex was Denver Post publisher William Dean Singleton, who was recognized for his years as a member of the NSCD board. “The NSCD has had some great leaders,” noted president/CEO Craig Pollitt, “(but) it is hard to imagine a board member who has had more impact than Dean Singleton.” Read more at .
Volunteers of America hit yet another home run with its 2007 Legends of Golf tournament. The event, chaired by Carl Barnhill, Ed McBrien and Ken Ross, was a sellout. Hall of Fame pitcher Gaylord Perry was a popular celebrity guest, both on the demanding Sanctuary course and at the Players Party held the night before at the Denver ChopHouse.
