GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Damage to a substation knocked out power to downtown Grand Junction for about three hours Tuesday.
Police department headquarters were in the blackout area but public safety communication was not affected, police spokeswoman Linda Bowman said.
About 200 customers were affected in an area from South to Hill avenues and from Fourth to 16th streets.
Xcel Energy did not release additional details on the outage.
