Aurora – SWAT officers found two young children and made two arrests tonight when investigators uncovered a methamphetamine lab at a townhome in the 16900 block of East Whitaker Drive, Aurora police said.
Narcotics investigators had received information that led them to believe that a meth lab was at this location.
Chemicals and other items were found inside the townhome that were consistent with chemicals used for the production of meth, Aurora police Detective Bob Friel said.
Two children were also discovered inside the residence and taken into protective custody by police. The children, both of whom are believed to be under the age of 6, appeared to be in reasonably good condition.
As a precautionary measure, the children were taken to a local hospital for examination, Friel said.
Two unidentified adults were arrested in connection with the investigation, Friel said.
