Two Western Slope meetings have been scheduled for Thursday to discuss management of deer and elk herds. A public gathering at Craig’s Moffat County Fairgrounds will cover elk population objectives in two key data analysis units. Unit E-2 will be covered at 6 p.m.; unit E-1 will take center stage at 7 p.m. A discussion of deer and elk plans for unit 60 is set for 6 p.m. at the Community Center in Paradox.
Commission workshop
A final vote to permanently implement the emergency migratory bird-hunting regulations passed on Aug. 13 highlights the agenda of the Colorado Wildlife Commission meeting on Thursday and Friday at the Pueblo Convention Center. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, then adjourns at 3:10 p.m. for a joint meeting with the Board of Parks and Outdoor Recreation. The commission workshop will resume at 8 a.m. Friday and adjourns at 9:35 a.m.
