Fans hoping for an up-close look at Los Angeles Galaxy star David Beckham when the team visits Denver for a Sunday game against the Rapids will have a last-ditch chance.

The Rapids said today the club will sell a limited number of standing room-only tickets to the game at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, set for 5 p.m. start Sunday.

Regular tickets for the game have long been sold out, since soon after they went on sale in March.

The standing room-only tickets will go on sale beginning Wednesday at 10 a.m. and can be ordered only from the Rapids at 303-825-4625 or at the stadium box office. Tickets will cost $15.

The game will also be broadcast on Altitude.

The Rapids, with 24 points, are fourth in the Western Conference standings. They are two points out of the eighth and final playoff spot. The Galaxy trails Colorado in the West with 14 points.

Colorado is coming off a two-game winning streak, with consecutive home victories over conference leaders Houston and New England.

The Galaxy has not won a regular season game in Denver since 2002. The Rapids are 13-7-3 all-time against L.A. at home, including a 1-0 win over the Galaxy in front of a sell-out crowd on May 26.
