A 2-year-old boy was struck and killed in the driveway of a northwest Denver home Friday night.
Police received a call about 7:30 p.m. from a home in the 4300 block of Pecos Street. Police spokesman John White said a pickup truck was pulling into the driveway at that address when the accident happened.
“From what we understand, the child had opened the gate for the vehicle to drive through,” White said.
The boy apparently walked in front of the pickup, where the man driving the vehicle could not see him, White said. He said the driveway is long and J-shaped.
White said police had not yet determined the driver’s relationship to the child.
