Green dream home complete

Mountain Living magazine has completed its first Natural Dream Home at Bear Dance in Larkspur.

The 9,295-square-foot home, a joint venture with Pieper & Associates, KPA Construction and Cultured Log Systems, was built to surpass Built Green Colorado standards.

The home is expected to have an average energy bill of $300 a month, one-fifth the expected cost of a conventionally built home of the same size.

Village Homes takes prizes

Village Homes won first place in 11 of 12 categories in the 2007 Parade of Homes.

The awards included the Judge’s Overall Choice for The Shore House, the homebuilders’ coastal-style home.

Rocky Mountain Custom Homes received the Energy of Excellence Award for its Hamptons-style home; and Hollyberry Homes received the Award of Excellence for its energy and materials use.

The Parade of Homes runs through Sept. 3 at Southshore, a new community overlooking the Aurora Reservoir near E-470 and Smoky Hill Road.

Sheraton gets makeover

The Sheraton Steamboat Springs is getting a major facelift.

The first phase will include total renovation of the 193-room West Tower. The East Tower will be converted into 24 two- and three-bedroom luxury vacation ownership villas, and the Morningside Tower will be converted into 23 rental villas.

Steamboat developer recognized

Steamboat Springs developer Dave Hill was featured in Estates West magazine as one of the 15 people to watch in the West in the building, design and construction industry.

Hill is head of Resort Ventures West.
