HOUSTON—The number of rigs actively exploring for oil and natural gas in nationally by 21 this week while Colorado added one.
The total nationally was 1,816. That’s up 60 from last year.
s -based Baker Hughes says the rig count stood at 1,756 a year ago.
Texas led with 14 new rigs, followed by Wyoming with five. Louisiana lost five.
