Our triangular friends played a greatest hits set at Red Rocks last week.

These and one DJ are touring their current instrumental record, “The Mix-Up,” in style. Their Colorado swing included a sold-out bash of an old-school hits show at before their sold-out gala, instrumental performance at the Fillmore the following night. And while we missed the Fillmore gig, the Red Rocks show on Aug. 16 was a true throwdown that featured the boys looking and sounding better than they have in the last decade. Working their way through a wishlist of tracks that spanned their career, the Beastie Boys sounded more together than they have in recent years – and the occasional addition of a live band only enhanced the tracks in the crisp mountain air…
