Lori Sue Salminen, 23, of Edgewater pleaded guilty today to attempted theft and attempted forgery.
Salminen was indicted for issuing seven restitution checks totaling $7,912 to herself while she worked from February to June 2006 as a contract bookkeeper for the Jefferson County clerk of combined courts. Her duties included issuing restitution checks to crime victims.
Sentencing has been set for Oct. 4. Each charge carries a possible sentence of one to three years.
