PUEBLO, Colo.—The Colorado State Fair Junior Livestock Sale has set a new record, raising $412,950.
Fair General Manager Chris Wiseman said Tuesday that the sale total surpassed the former high total by more than $75,000. The higher total was credited to a healthy increase in the number of goats and intense bidding.
The top bidders who paid $50,000 for 15-year-old Lisa Reid’s grand champion crossbred steer were Jake Jabs of American Furniture Warehouse, Dean Singleton of ap Inc., Larry Mizel of MDT Holdings Inc. and Rick Sapkin of Delemont Development.
Fair officials said it was the best price for a steer in more than 20 years.
