GREELEY, Colo.—A Greeley jury has convicted 19-year-old Carlos Valenzuela of first-degree murder in the killing of 18-year-old Sylvian Santillan, mother of two small children.
Weld County prosecution spokeswoman Jennifer Fish said the jury deliberated ten hours before returning a verdict Friday.
He also was convicted of several other felonies in the incident in a park in September of last year, which investigators said was gang-related.
Six other people are still facing charges in the charge.
A judge immediately sentenced Valenzuela to life in prison without parole and 60 years on the other charges.
