Here are the five worst new shows for fall:
1. Cavemen (ABC): Not just racist, but dimwitted and lacking in humor too. The attempt to turn a Geico commercial into a half- hour comedy was suspect from the start.
2. Carpoolers (ABC): There’s a reason you don’t spend much time with your fellow travelers out of the car. Claustrophobic, forced and unfunny.
3. Journeyman (NBC): He’s a time traveler (Kevin McKidd of “Rome”) who secretly solves crimes but must lead a double life and can’t rearrange his own timeline. Borrowing the time-travel element from “Heroes” isn’t enough.
4. Viva Laughlin (CBS): If you liked “Viva Blackpool,” you’ll be disappointed by this knockoff. If you didn’t like “Viva Blackpool,” there’s no reason to try this musical-drama-mystery hybrid either.
5. K Ville (Fox): The New Orleans location is distinctive but the basic cop story isn’t. Anthony Anderson is a strong talent and the post-Katrina story lines should work, but it doesn’t hold together.
