In the habitat-driven ebb and flow of pheasant, one thing is constant – the continuing effort of Pheasants Forever to provide whatever assistance to nature it can manage.
The effort takes money as well as effort. To that end, the Metro Denver Chapter will host its inaugural banquet and fundraising auction Sept. 22. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the event at Embassy Suites Hotel, 4444 Havana St., which features a wide range of outdoor items, art and trips. For information, 303-375-0400.
Metro Denver PF will join with the Colorado Division of Wildlife and Safari Club International to host a fall youth pheasant hunt Oct. 6 at Rocky Mountain Roosters in Calhan. The educational event is open to boys and girls ages 10-16 who have completed a hunter safety course. The hunt is limited to 18 participants who may register at 303-627-9648 or .
The chapter also will sponsor an Oct. 7 chukar shoot at Kiowa Creek Sporting Club to support its youth education program, phone 303-627-9648.
