Granted, you can’t draw too many conclusions from one game.
But if there’s one thing we can say about the 2007 Broncos after seeing them for three hours, it’s this: Travis Henry had better stay healthy.
Henry was everything he was advertised to be against Buffalo, running for 139 yards on 23 carries. That was three more yards than any Broncos tailback ran for last season.
Henry if healthy will provide a crucial ball-control element to the Broncos’ offense. They figure to struggle some on third down, what with a virtual rookie at quarterback. But Henry gives them a chance to be second- or third-and-short, increasing their chances of moving the chains.
His history suggests Henry may break down at some point this season. What happens then? Um, did I mention the Broncos haven’t lost a game this season?
