GOLDEN, Colo.—A construction worker picking up cones marking a lane closure on Interstate 70 died Tuesday after falling out of his vehicle and then being struck by a co-worker who was driving.
The State Patrol says the 43-year-old Denver man, whose name wasn’t released, was riding in a pickup truck inside a designated construction zone.
The man fell out while the truck was backing up as he was picking up cones, and he was struck by the vehicle. Troopers say the driver apparently then pulled forward and struck the man a second time.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured.
