Grand Junction — Mesa County reported its first West Nile virus death of the season today, health officials said.
It is the fifth death related to the mosquito-borne disease to be reported in Colorado this year. There have been 352 confirmed West Nile cases this year statewide, according to the state health department.
State health officials said the latest victim was a 75-year-old woman who became sick in late August.
