OK, so maybe you wouldn’t dream of buying a $3,000 dress for yourself. But for your darling dog? Totally different story.

Teacups Puppies & Boutique in Hollywood, Fla., is carrying a limited-edition frock by Susan Lanci for Swarovski, with thousands of hand-sewn stone butterflies and flowers. Only 10 were made; Teacups has three. It may put you in hock but, boy, does it look cute.

“People get absolutely crazy when it comes to their dogs — they go all out,” says Michael Badgett, owner of My Baby Has Pawz in Pembroke Pines, Fla. “They love them like children.” My Baby carries gourmet treats from $1 to a fuzzy Juicy Couture airline carrier for $200.

Gone, apparently, are the days when owners tied Rover to a tree overnight with a bowl of water and a Milk Bone.

“I wouldn’t think of not dressing Bijoux when she goes out,” says Linda Medici, whose 4-year-old party poodle has a closet full of outfits, including a tutu and a formal black satin gown. “She’s definitely spoiled, but so loving we don’t care.”
