CANON CITY, Colo.—The U.S. Forest Services is monitoring a 90-acre wildfire in a remote part of the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness in southern Colorado.

Officials say no structures are threatened and no firefighters have been sent to the scene.

The fire is burning in heavy timber about seven miles south of Coaldale and 110 miles south of Denver.

Officials say the smoke may be visible from nearby towns and from vehicles on U.S. Highway 50.

The fire was first reported Friday. The cause hasn’t been determined.
