Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign is a “poster child” for corrupt Washington, an adviser for rival John Edwards alleged Tuesday.

“If you want to know why we need change in Washington … then just look at Sen. Clinton’s schedule for today,” Edwards adviser Joe Trippi e-mailed supporters, pointing to her $1,000-a-head fundraiser with security industry leaders.

“The American people know that the system in Washington has become corroded and corrupt,” he continued, “yet too many in office have fallen under the spell of campaign money at any cost.”

Ex-president lauds McCain

Former President George H.W. Bush backs John McCain’s efforts to increase support for the Iraq war in a new video, a telecast that aides to both men say shouldn’t be construed as an endorsement of McCain’s White House bid.

Bush appeared in the video shown at South Carolina’s military college, The Citadel, at the final stop of the Arizona senator’s “No Surrender” tour.
