The Rockies will open the 2008 season March 31 at St. Louis and host their home-opener April 4 against Arizona, according to baseball’s tentative schedule expected to be released this week.

The Rockies first home-stand includes Arizona for three games followed by a visit from Atlanta for four games.

They then will head off on their first of three 10-game roadtrips, going to San Francisco, San Diego and Houston.

As for interleague play, the Rockies will host the Minnesota Twins for the first time ever, May 16-18 and will have a return visit from the Cleveland Indians June 16-18.

The Rockies road interleague games include first-time visits to Chicago to face the White Sox, June 13-15, and at Kansas City to play the Royals June 23-25. The Rockies finish their interleague schedule at Detroit against the Tigers, June 27-29.

The Rockies will finish the season on the road at San Francisco and Arizona.

The schedule is subject to final revisions by the league until it is officially released.
