Houston — The Houston Texans signed former Colorado State standouts David Anderson and Joel Dreessen on Tuesday to bolster their injury-depleted roster.
The Texans signed Anderson and Dreessen to add depth at receiver with Andre Johnson and rookie Jacoby Jones out with injuries. Jones is expected to miss two to three weeks with a separated shoulder, and Johnson is out indefinitely with a knee sprain.
Anderson, a seventh-round draft pick by Houston in 2006, was released Aug. 31. He appeared in nine games last season with one reception for 27 yards. Dreessen, a tight end, was released Sept. 14
The Texans placed center Steve McKinney and defensive tackle Cedric Killings on injured reserve, ending their seasons.
Killings remains hospitalized as he recovers from a fracture of his C-4 vertebra suffered in a headfirst collision with Indianapolis receiver Roy Hall on Sunday.
McKinney tore his left anterior cruciate ligament against the Colts.
