The local arm of Goliath promoter Live Nation, formerly known as Clear Channel, made a smart move by downsizing its Oct. 29 Maroon 5 concert from the Pepsi Center to the Fillmore Auditorium.
As Kelly Clarkson’s people recently realized, a show at the 18,000- to 20,000-person-capacity Pepsi Center is far too ambitious. But what about the Fillmore, which seats a modest 3,600? That’s another story entirely.
Not only did Maroon 5’s first Fillmore show sell out, but Live Nation this week announced another for Oct. 30. If that sells out, combined seats are still less than half of the Can, but Live Nation comes out looking good in the deal.
Tickets for the Oct. 30 all-ages concert are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($50.50, Ticketmaster)
