Downtown Denver could face a perfect storm of sporting events and other activities this weekend.

On Sunday, the Broncos, the Avalanche and the Rockies could all be playing if the Rockies’ playoff series against the Philadelphia Phillies goes to Game 4.

Additionally, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at the Pepsi Center, Oktoberfest and Denver Arts Week are all on the schedule.

On Saturday, in addition to a Rockies playoff game, there are the Columbus Day parade, Oktoberfest and Denver Arts Week activities.

Many of the events start at different times – the Broncos at 2 p.m. and the Rockies at 8 p.m. Sunday, for example – but there is some overlap with day-long events such as Oktoberfest.

The Regional Transportation District is adding additional 16th Street Mall shuttles. It also will provide special transportation for the Race for the Cure and the Broncos game, and express buses from 11 park-n-Ride locations to Coors Field.
