All northbound lanes of Interstate 25 have been reopened after a woman was killed when her sport utility vehicle slammed into a Colorado Department of Transportation truck parked on the shoulder of the highway, authorities said.

The victim, Erin Walsh, 36, of Englewood, drove a black 2006 Honda into the back of a sign truck parked on the side of the road, said Gilbert Mares, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.

State workers were picking up litter on the side of the road at 9:30 a.m. when the accident near Colorado 7 happened, said Stacey Stegman, CDOT spokeswoman. No state employees were injured, she said.
